You can't fix the poison arrow hit sound as it is hard-coded. This also happens in WBC3. Only in the latest version of TPC (0.8.7) this was fixed.

May I somehow hardcode that hit sound in WB2.exe? Can someone help me to do it Smile ?
Or again - can I change the poison arrow ID to default arrow which has no any effect attached to it (as other archers have)?

Well, I really need that poison arrows to be fixed.
Tried to change projectile ID for the unit - noway - it uses the same deaf poison arrows (I gave it a sprite arrows), while other archers whom I gave the same projectile successfully changed them...
So... Could the devs of the Protectors please help me to hardcode that feature... Or if someone have no patience to explain, will he eventually code the .exe file himself. I would be very grateful.

It's not possible. No-one has the source code for Warlords Battlecry 2.

Is there a source code for WB3? (Assuming that in the Protectors mod the bug was fixed)... So maybe the same way it could be done with WB2?

Or to make a radical move - to change the whole Dark elf archer with for example Wood elf archer with its normal arrow projectile?

Without the source code from WBC2, having solved the issue in WBC3 makes no difference, unfortunately, as you have no way to compile the former's. Sad

Its very pity that there is noway to fix the unit without the code... WB2 is much better than WB3 (its buildings design is more beautiful than the latter game, the number of races is more complete and logically finished).
But my second question was - is there a possibility to use another unit instead of dark archer - with its own graphics, animation, sounds and projectiles?

I think it might be. Changing the unit ID (and its files) might allow you to change the projectile. However, the unit wouldn't be affected by almost any research afaik.
